Vocational-Technical Education -- Vocational-Technical Certification

The Board of Education supports the certification requirements established by the State Board of Education and endorses efforts to upgrade the instructional and technical expertise of vocational education teachers and administrators. The board demonstrates this commitment by supporting the employment of fully certificated personnel and by providing opportunities for professional development and other appropriate activities for improvement.

Vocational-Technical Education -- Vocational-Technical Certification

The director of career and vocational education will be responsible, in conjunction with the human resource officer for complying with the state board's certification requirements for all vocational staff. In addition, the office of the director of career and vocational education will supervise the certification/recertification records to assure compliance for reimbursement of funds.

The director of career and vocational education will coordinate professional development with the director of teaching and learning support. Local applications for financing will include appropriate activities designed to develop technological expertise and keep instructor's skills commensurate with business and industry standards. Coordination will also occur with the appropriate Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
