Library Materials Selection and Adoption

Personnel responsible for the selection of library materials shall continually evaluate the district collections in order to provide a comprehensive collection and determine areas of need. It is the responsibility of the library media specialists to select, without bias or prejudice, materials that shall meet the needs of students and teachers. Materials shall not be excluded because of race, nationality, or the political or religious views of the writer. Reputable, unbiased, professionally prepared selection aids, which are chosen annually, shall be consulted as guides in the selection of library materials.
