ST. LOUIS BOARD OF EDUCATION POLICY Extra-Curricular Activities -- Travel and Exchange Programs The Board of Education supports student participation in travel and exchange programs for its intrinsic value to students. Neither the board nor any of its employees shall have responsibilities to students or their parents when students initiate their participation in travel or exchange programs without the knowledge and consent of the school, as evidenced in writing.

The principal or designee will acquire the official brochure and other literature concerning travel or exchange programs before any student participates. Parents or guardians will be given the same materials. Brochures and other literature shall be reviewed by a minimum of two (2) certificated board employees. Certificated board employees may endorse student participation in travel or exchange programs upon satisfactory evidence that the program is valid.
