Extra-Curricular Activities -- Public Performances and Exhibitions

The Board of Education believes that public performances and exhibitions by students shall fit both the aims of the school and the needs and interests of students. It also believes that public performances and exhibitions by students shall stimulate student interest in improving the ability to perform.

Curriculum

Extra-Curricular Activities -- Public Performances and Exhibitions

Participation in public performances and exhibitions shall be voluntary.

All public performances and exhibitions shall have a duly appointed sponsor. It shall be the duty of the sponsor to attend the performance or exhibition and to advise the students of proper conduct.

When performances or exhibitions are held in locations other than on the school’s grounds, there shall be a bus or other appropriate vehicle to take the students and the sponsor and to return them to the school. The sponsor must remain with the students until they return to the school.

The principal or designee shall be responsible for coordinating the events of performances and exhibitions.

To the maximum extent feasible, public performances and exhibitions will be presented in a format accessible to individuals with disabilities. All performances and exhibitions shall refrain from depicting individuals with disabilities in a demeaning manner.
