Curriculum

Curriculum Design -- Magnet and Vocational School Programs

The Board of Education shall provide magnet school programs which are attractive to students residing in the city, and to students from county school districts participating through the Desegregation Settlement Agreement. Magnet and vocational school programs will be designed that include recommendations on curriculum, facilities, staff, and equipment appropriate to the identified focus.

The Board of Education directs the Superintendent to implement and maintain fair and equitable procedures within the spirit of the Desegregation Settlement Agreement, to assign students to magnet schools. Each year, any changes in the procedures shall be delivered to the Board of Education for review and approval in October prior to the February lottery.
