Schedules
Released Time

Students shall be released from school only upon written request from a parent or guardian and shall be given the right to make up classwork, tests, and assignments.

Students and staff may be released from school for authorized programs and activities of the St. Louis Board of Education on or off the school site.

Students and staff may be released from school upon authorization of the superintendent, or designee, to receive special honors and to participate in, or take advantage of, unique educational experiences.

Students shall not be released from school to receive private instruction.

Schedule
Released Time

Students shall be released from school upon written request from a parent or guardian for: major religious holidays, funerals, job related interviews, and dental and medical appointments. School officials may also excuse individual students from specific lessons that are objectionable to the student or the student's parents on religious grounds.

Advance parental notification of dental and medical appointments is required.

A request for the regularly scheduled absence of a student may be granted only by the office of the associate superintendent for site support/instructional and leadership. Early dismissals in emergencies may be permitted by the principal.

An employee may be released for one-half day to visit within the school, or to visit other schools, for the purpose of observing methods of instruction or management practices. Approval for the visitation must be made by the administrators involved with notification to the associate superintendent for site support/instructional and leadership.
