Videotaping Educational Programs

The Board of Education prohibits non-school personnel from videotaping educational programs in the district, including but not limited to classroom exercises, therapy sessions, and student assignments because the presence of a video recorder will inhibit the free and appropriate discussion necessary for providing an appropriate educational program.

Exceptions can be made by the school principal if the prohibition of videotaping impairs a student from receiving a free appropriate public education. All requests to videotape an educational program should be directed to the school principal. Questions regarding videotaping special education programs or services should be directed to the Executive Director of Special Education.
