P5131.5 ST. LOUIS BOARD OF EDUCATION POLICY STUDENTS ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE AND SECONDARY Activities Conduct -- Vandalism The Board of Education views vandalism against school property by students as reprehensible. As a result of a careful study by parents, school staff, and appropriate community officials, the administration is directed to take such steps as are necessary. These include: 1. Identifying the student(s) involved. 2. Calling together persons, including the parents, needed to study the cases. 3. Deciding upon disciplinary and/or legal action. If parents fail to appear and/or cooperate in the discussions, the administration may charge the student with being delinquent by a petition stating the offense and referring the student to the St. Louis metropolitan police department. 4. Taking any constructive actions needed to guard against further such student misbehavior.
