Student Records – Copies and Fees

A fee will be charged for copies of official student records that are made for the parents of students, eligible students and authorized third parties, unless the imposition of a fee would effectively prevent a parent, or eligible student, from exercising the right to inspect and review the student’s records. This fee will be for copying charges only. The board reserves the right to deny a parent or eligible student copies in the following circumstances, unless failure to provide a copy would effectively prevent the parent or eligible student the right to inspect and review the records:

1. The parent or eligible student has an unpaid financial obligation to the school district.

2. The education record requested is an exam or set of standardized test questions, test protocols, or associated raw test data.

3. The parent or eligible student lives within commuting distance of the location where the particular record is located.
