Attendance

Attendance and Excuses -- Part-Time Student Attendance

The following regulations govern the enrollment and conduct of part-time students in the St. Louis Public Schools:

A. Enrollment

Students between their 16th and 21st birthdays may enroll in the St. Louis Public Schools on a part-time basis, subject to the following provisions:

1. Part-time students shall follow the same procedure for enrollment as full-time students.

2. Part-time students shall be enrolled in a planned program.

B. Conduct at School

Part-time students are subject to the same requirements for attendance, course content, homework, grades, and class participation as full-time students. In addition, part-time students are governed by the same disciplinary rules as full-time students.

C. Extracurricular Activities

Part-time students may participate in extracurricular activities (other than interschool athletics) to the same extent as full-time students. Participation in interschool athletics shall be governed by the Missouri State High School Activities Association and the Public High School League.

D. Record Keeping

Accurate records of academic achievement and attendance shall be kept on part-time students. For state aid purposes, numbers of hours in attendance must be recorded for part-time students.
