R5111. 8 ST. LOUlS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULATION STUDENTS ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE AND SECONDARY Attendance Admission - Admission of Persons Currently Suspended or Expelled by Other School Districts If a student is attempting to enroll in the St. Louis Public Schools during a suspension or expulsion from another in-state or out-of-state school district, including a private, charter or parochial school or school district, a conference with the superintendent or designee may be held at the request of a parent, court appointed legal guardian, someone acting as a parent as defined by rule in the case of a special education student, or the student to consider if the conduct of the student would have resulted in a suspension or expulsion in the St. Louis Public Schools. Upon a determination by the superintendent or designee that such conduct would have resulted in a suspension or expulsion in the St. Louis Public Schools, such suspension or expulsion from another school or district shall be effective in the St. Louis Public Schools. Upon a determination by the superintendent or designee that such conduct would not have resulted in a suspension or expulsion in the St. Louis Public Schools, the suspension or expulsion shall not be effective in the St. Louis Public Schools. When admitting or enrolling students suspended or expelled by other school districts, the provisions of Regulation R5111.6 (concerning readmission of students suspended for an act of school violence) and Regulation R5111.2 (concerning assignment of students charged with or convicted of certain crimes) may also apply.
