COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER PERSONNEL – GENERAL

Inherent in the community education philosophy is the belief that each local community education center should reflect the needs of its particular community. Because each local community education center program is individually conceptualized and localized, community education center employees are selected specifically for a particular program in a given locale. Moreover, local advisory boards are given a voice in the decisions affecting a particular community education center. Such authority must be consistent with Missouri law, and community education center employees shall be subject to the policies and regulations of the St. Louis Board of Education in all aspects of their employment.

Although the community education center program in the St. Louis Public Schools is partially and sometimes wholly financed by outside sources, local community education center employees are nevertheless employees of the St. Louis Board of Education.
