EMPLOYEE AND LABOR RELATIONS

Demotion

Upon the recommendation of the superintendent of schools, the Board of Education may move an employee to a position or classification having a lower basic starting salary or range in accordance with relevant and applicable statutory provisions.

The Board of Education will not demote an employee based upon the employee's age, sex, race, religion, national origin, creed, color, ancestry, veteran status or disability.

Demotions recommended to the Board of Education shall be for one or more of the following major reasons:

1. Employee request

2. Job reclassification
3. Reduction in force
4. Disciplinary measures
