Cooperation of Employees in Preserving Good Order and Discipline in The Schools

Reporting Acts of Violence

School administration shall report acts of violence to teachers and other employees as provided in regulations 5150.1 and R5150.2.

Board employees shall immediately report the following instances to the principal when the employee becomes aware of:

1. Any instances when any person is believed to have committed an act which if committed by an adult would be assault in the first, second or third degree, sexual assault, or deviate sexual assault against a student or school employee, while on school property, including a school bus in service on behalf of while involved in school activities; and

2. Any instance when a student is discovered to have on or about such student's person, or among such student's possessions, or placed elsewhere on school premises, any controlled substance or weapon in violation of Board policy or regulation.

The report by employees of child abuse incidents shall also be subject to the requirements set forth in Board Policy P4845 and Regulation R4845.
