ST. LOUIS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULATION
PERSONNEL
SECURITY OF PERSONNEL

Personal Property

Personal items of furniture and equipment shall not be brought on Board of Education premises without the knowledge and permission of the principal or immediate supervisor. The principal or immediate supervisor should see that items of personal property are not recorded on the official inventory.

When personal property is brought on board premises, neither the Board of Education nor the administration assumes responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage to personal items unless an employee sustains damage to personal property or loss thereof (e.g., clothing, dentures, eye glasses, hearing aids, etc.) as the result of bodily assault in the line of duty.

The employee may apply to the Division of Human Resources for reimbursement for damage or loss. The superintendent of schools or his/her representative shall review each case and render a decision based on the merits of the case.

Regulation approved: June 26, 1990
