ST. LOUIS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULATION The Board of Education encourages the use of consultants when it is clear they can provide valuable and necessary specialized services not normally required on a continuing basis and which cannot be provided by district personnel because of limitations of time, experience or knowledge. Whenever a department, division, unit or school identifies a need for a consultant, the following activities shall be implemented: 1. The requesting department, division, unit or school identifies the appropriate consultant. 2. A Request for Contract Form shall be completed and submitted to the contract compliance office at least 30 days prior to the date of proposed service. Review factors to be considered are: a. Scope of work. b. Rationale for total cost. c. Justification as to why the consulting services are required.
a. Academic/educational background. b. Relevancy and quality of technical ability. c. Consultant experience. 4. All consultant contracts must be reviewed by the contract compliance office and approved by the superintendent of schools before the consultant services may be procured.
