ST. LOUIS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULATION Staff Assignments and Appointments - General Favoritism and Work Assignments to Members of Immediate Family Employees shall not initiate, recommend through the superintendent of schools to the board, participate in, or attempt in any way to influence personnel decisions involving a direct benefit (i.e., initial appointment, retention, promotion, salary, leave of absence, etc.) to members of their immediate families. It shall not be a violation of this regulation for an employee to participate in a personnel decision to recommend to the board improved salary, fringe benefits, or terms and conditions of employment to a substantial number of employees constituting a classification of employees, one of whom is a member of the participating employee's immediate family. WORK ASSIGNMENT No employee of the St. Louis Public School System shall be supervised or evaluated by a member of their immediate family. The term "member of the immediate family" is defined as mother, father, foster parent, husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, sister, and any other person who resides in the employee's household.
