LOUIS BOARD OF EDUCATION POLICY Employment Guidelines - Appointment Priority for City Residents When all other qualifications are equal, applicants for employment who reside in the City of St. Louis or who agree, as a condition of employment, to establish residency within the City of St. Louis, shall be given priority selection for all appointments to personnel positions in the St. Louis Public Schools. Newly appointed employees who received preferential hiring treatment because they resided in the City of St. Louis must continue to reside therein as long as they are so employed. Job advertisements will include a statement that employment preference will be granted to qualified city residents and/or persons who agree to establish city residency when all other qualifications are equal.
