Complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act
Grievance Procedures

An employee who has made a request for a reasonable accommodation pursuant to Board Regulation R4123.1 may appeal the human resource officer's decision to the ADA committee within ten days of being rendered.

The ADA committee shall be composed of a representative of the Division of Human Resources, building, grounds and maintenance department, the planning division, the business and finance division, and a representative from the schools. The ADA committee shall meet once every quarter.

The ADA committee will decide whether to sustain or deny the human resource officer's decision within 60 working days of the initiation of the appeal. The employee may make a final appeal to the superintendent of an adverse decision of the ADA committee within ten days of the decision of the ADA committee.

The superintendent shall affirm or deny the appeal within twenty working days of the appeal.
