Complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act
Request for Accommodations

An employee who suffers from a disability and is unable to perform the essential functions of his/her job without reasonable accommodations shall make a request for a reasonable accommodation with their principal or immediate supervisor.

The principal or immediate supervisor shall attempt to accommodate the employee. If no accommodation can be reached within ten working days, the principal or immediate supervisor shall submit the request to the Unit Director of Human Resources for Teacher Services and Employee Relations.

The Unit Director of Human Resources for Teacher Services and Employee Relations shall investigate the complaint and make recommendations to the Human Resource Officer within fifteen working days of receiving the request.

The Human Resource Officer shall consider the director's recommendations and may follow the recommendations, make an alternative decision or deny the request within twenty working days of the director's recommendations. The Human Resource Officer may also seek a legal opinion from counsel.
