Transportation: School Bus Safety Program

The safe transportation of district students to and from school is to be of primary concern to school officials in the administration of the school bus program. All state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the safe use of school buses will be observed by drivers, students, and district personnel.

The superintendent, in cooperation with principals, is responsible for developing and publishing rules governing student conduct during transportation.

A program to acquaint all students with safe riding, loading, unloading, and emergency bus evacuation procedures shall be implemented and continued throughout the year. The superintendent will establish administrative guidelines and regulations to enforce this policy.
