INCOME
Gifts, Grants, and Donations

The Board of Education is duly appreciative and may accept for the district any bequest of gifts or donations of money or property.

The board, upon recommendation of the superintendent of schools, reserves the right to specify the manner in which gifts or donations are made, to define the type of gift or donations which it considers appropriate, and reject those which it deems inappropriate or unsuitable. The acceptance or non-acceptance shall not be construed as a positive or negative testimony or endorsement of a product or business enterprise.

The superintendent of schools and development officer shall establish administrative regulations to implement this policy.

Gifts, Grants and Donations

All gifts, grants, and donations shall meet the following principles and specifications.

1. Gifts should have a purpose consistent with the recognized and approved educational purpose of the district.

2. All donors shall review with the superintendent of schools and appropriate staff the details and conditions to ensure the usability of the gift or grant. Upon recommendation of the superintendent, the board may accept the gift or grant for the school district.

3. By acceptance of the gift or grant, the board makes no commitment to assume financial responsibility if the gift or grant money become exhausted.

4. The fiscal control office and the appropriate operating division shall maintain a file of correspondence and notices pertaining to all grants and gifts.
