COMMUNITY RELATIONS

RELATIONS BETWEEN OTHER GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AND SCHOOLS


The Board of Education encourages cooperation with other governmental agencies and schools to assess the needs for community education and to provide access to a comprehensive program of studies designed to meet the continuing educational needs of the public.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS

RELATIONS BETWEEN OTHER GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AND SCHOOLS

Reciprocal Agreement Between the City of St. Louis and the Board of Education

The City of St. Louis operates the following recreational programs which make use of certain facilities of the St. Louis Public Schools.

1. A city summer playground program providing activities for all children of school age.

2. An after school program to provide activities, including rhythms, athletics, arts, crafts, and games, for all children of elementary school age.

3. An evening program to provide physical education activities for teenagers and young adults.

These programs are administered by the City of St. Louis under terms of a reciprocal agreement between the city and the board. The board reserves the right to assign the following priorities in the scheduling of such school facilities as are jointly selected for these programs:

First Priority - School events and programs. Second Priority - City recreation programs. Third Priority - Events by other groups or agencies.
