ST. LOUIS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULATION

COMMUNITY RELATIONS

RELATIONS BETWEEN OTHER GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AND SCHOOLS

Local Units, State, and Federal Government

Police Department

The Board of Education encourages and supports a cooperative relationship with the St. Louis Police Department. It is paramount that the rights of the school, the home, the civil authorities, and the individual be clearly understood and protected.

Fire Department

The board encourages and supports a cooperative relationship with the St. Louis Fire Department that enhances knowledge and understanding of safety and fire prevention.

Health Department

The board encourages and supports a cooperative relationship with the St. Louis Health Department that enhances knowledge and understanding of good health habits and promotes a healthy community.

Welfare Department

The board encourages and supports a cooperative relationship with the St. Louis Department of Welfare in an effort to protect the rights of children and at the same time promote a wholesome and stable family.

County and Intermediate Units

The board encourages and supports a cooperative relationship with county and intermediate units of government.

State Government

The board encourages and supports a cooperative relationship with the state government that promotes the common good of the citizens of St. Louis and the state and fosters a greater understanding of the process of education and related needs.

Federal Government

Funds for educational purposes made available by the federal government will be accepted by the board when the conditions of their availability are in harmony with the purposes and policies of the district and the state statutes.
