Gifts to Students

The acceptance of trophies, prizes, or awards from individuals or organizations not connected with the schools is prohibited unless they conform to Board of Education policy and regulations providing for such awards.

PUBLIC ACTIVITIES INVOLVING STAFF, STUDENTS OR SCHOOL FACILITIES
Relations Between Public and Students

Gifts to Students

Trophies, prizes, or awards to students must be from persons or organizations approved by the superintendent of schools.

Trophies, awards, and prizes must be commensurate with the time and efforts of the contestants involved.

Scholarships or public acknowledgment of academic, athletic, or artistic accomplishment are deemed to be acceptable rewards for students.

Incentive or promotional items for students are acceptable if approved by the appropriate associate superintendent and if such items help students improve their performance in school.
