Prohibition Against Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation
It is the policy of the Board of Education of the City of St. Louis to prohibit discrimination in employment and activities based on an individual's sexual orientation. As such, the Board of Education will not fail or refuse to hire or discharge any qualified individual and will not discriminate against qualified people with respect to compensation, terms, conditions or privileges of employment because of such individual's sexual orientation. This prohibition covers all aspects of the employment process, including:
· Application
· Promotion
· Testing
· Medical examinations
· Hiring
· Assignments
· Disciplinary action
· Evaluation
· Training
· Leave
· Benefits
· Compensation
Any employee who believes that he or she has been discriminated against on the basis of his or her sexual orientation shall report such discrimination to the district's deputy superintendent.
